Wisdom & Knowing the Difference

In the ‘Serenity Prayer’ used by many organizations, churches, support groups, etc. etc., we ask for inner peace, for courage to do things that may (seem to)  be difficult, or contrary to our own wills, and for discernment —  the wisdom to know the difference.

Knowing the difference is rather like climbing a mountain.

We start of loaded down with family obligations, friends’ oppositions,   the expectations and conventions of society,   prejudices,  and misconceptions.

These burdens make it impossible for us to reach the mountain’s peak — serenity.

Until we learn better, we enable, instead of help.  We judge and condemn instead of listening with an open mind.  We vent our anger on unimportant issues.  We are weighed down with, guilt, blame, denial,  fear,  and dispair.

For a while, we continue to breathe the poisonous fumes of resentment,  rejection,  and regret.

We are often indanger of loosing our way,
and some of us end up isolated and/or trapped.

But…  Our Climb can become easier when we adopt certain ‘tools/training’ we learn along our “life’s journey”.   As we learn and grow, casting aside the ‘unnecesary baggage’, we find ourselves freer and climbing closer the the mountain’s  peak.

Wisdom Leads To Serenity

Daily affirmation:

Today I will seek the wisdom to know the difference.

Be Blessed & Joyful
