On Happiness…

    Ummm…  TOTAL HAPPINESS???

For a Fact I KNOW that we can obtain ‘contentment” , and/or be in ‘our bliss’… but totally happy, on this realm?

I think not.  Would be Nice, though.

happiness

We do have ‘moments’ of tremendous joys, outbursts of being totally “blown away” by the element of surprise, pleasure, desire (etc. etc.)… but how long do they last?

Has anyone ever timed the Human ability of “how long can a human remain flabergasted/blown away/in total joyful hysteria?

Of course these are the most blessed moments we have, the memories that bring excitement and nostalgia… but that is what it becomes, an emmense JOYful event… a blessed memory.

joy

I remember an old “conversation” between a grandfather and his grandson explaining  happiness.

When his grandfather asked what he wished for, the young boy answered, “Happiness! What would you ask for grandpa?”

“Well,” said the elder, “I have everything I need right now.  But if I could go back to the time when I was your age, I’d wish to know when I am happy.   Today when I look back, I remember times when I didn’t know how good life was.   I was too busy griping and worrying about whether I’d ever get a bicycle, or a yo-yo, or a saxophone, or…. whatever was “in” those days.  I didn’t take any time to enjoy my family, my home, a good joke, the garden,  my friends, or even the smell of morning.”

This man had learned that we are more likely to discover happiness, when we stop looking for it as an end in itself.

It is a by-product of a grateful ,
wide awake,  in-tune,  and balanced life!

Daily Affirmation:
Today I will try not to dwell on anything that keeps me from enjoying my blessings. Each and every one, regardless how small it may seem.

Live In The Moment

   Grabbing every joyful moment
as if it where the last one
you’ll ever see!

Live in Joy, Laughter & In The Now.

Enjoy yourself.
These are the good old days
you’re going to miss in the years ahead.

Be Blessed & Joyful
(always!)

Look to this day,  for it is life,  the very life of life.
In its brief course lie all the realities and verities of existence.

The bliss of growth, the splendor of action, the glory of power.

And yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision.
But today – well lived -
makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day.
